Curriculum for Basic Science Foundation Course (BSFC) at Valhalla Westchester College of Medicine

  • The Basic Science Foundation Course (BSFC) program is designed to prepare students for those students wishing to enter New Valhalla Westchester College of Medicine without MCAT scores.
  • This program is non-credit course and can be completed in one calendar year.
  • This degree program is a unique opportunity for students to take courses taught at Medical School as a way to prepare for
    Medical School. The first and second year Medical School curriculum will include: Gross Anatomy, Medical Physiology, Biochemistry,
    Histology, Human Neuroanatomy, Pharmacology, Medical Microbiology, and Pathology
  • This unique curriculum will enhance students’ performance in medical school and also in United States Medical License Examination
    (USMLE) part I. As a student evaluation method, National Board of Medical Examiner (NBME) shelf examinations are administered.
    Generally, the performance scores in NBME shelf examinations are regarded as a good indicator of performance in USMLE.
