Academic Requirement:

• New Tokyo Medical College (VWCM) has set forth minimum academic requirements anddeveloped a list of required and recommended coursework for applicants to VWCM.
• VWCM course requirements and recommendations are similar to those required by other US institutions.
  • Completion and receipt of the VWCM application
  • The minimum college GPA is 7 (on 4.0 scale). A candidate with GPA below 2.7 may file a petition to admission committee
  • Receipt of at least two letters of recommendation
  • General Biology with laboratory:
  • 2 semesters
  • General Chemistry with laboratory:
  • 2 semesters
  • Organic Chemistry with laboratory:
  • 2 semesters
  • Physics with laboratory:
  • 2 semesters
  • Mathematics:
  • 2 semesters of College Mathematics or 1 semester college math and 1 semester statistics
  • College English:
  • 2 semesters of College English
• A bachelor’s (baccalaureate) degree is required for all students attending VWCM. All coursework must be completed in a satisfactory manner in an educational institution located in the United States or Canada.
• Applicants with baccalaureate degrees from accredited non-U.S. institutions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Application Process:

• For regular admissions, the process begins at any time since VWCM utilizes “Rolling Admission” system.
• The criteria for interview at VWCM will include the following:
  • Completion and receipt of the VWCM application
  • The minimum college GPA is 7 (on 4.0 scale)
  • Receipt of at least two letters of recommendation
• After the applicant’s interview, the entire application file will be presented to the Admissions The Admissions Committee will then vote to determine the admission status of the applicant.

Application Timeline:

• VWCM utilizes the “Rolling Admission” MD Candidates are invited to submit their applications to the College at anytime. However, to increase the chance to get a regular admission, students are advised to apply as early as possible. VWCM will then review the application and notify the applicant of their decision within a few weeks from submission.
